Outpatient Program (OP)

Ongoing therapy 1 to 2 sessions a week to keep your recovery steady as you return to daily life.

The Outpatient Program (OP) at Fortify Wellness is the lightest level of care for adults who are stepping down from a higher level of treatment or managing mild to moderate substance use and co-occurring conditions. Sessions run 1 to 2 times a week. We accept most major insurance.

Is OP Right For You?

OP is the right level of care when you have built a foundation in recovery and need steady support rather than daily structure. It tends to fit a few situations:

  • You finished an intensive outpatient or partial hospitalization program and want to hold your progress as you transition back to full daily life.
  • Your substance use is mild to moderate and you have stable, substance-free housing to return to.
  • You need accountability and a regular check-in more than you need several hours of programming each week.

If you are not sure whether OP is enough support for where you are, call (818) 918-9564 and our team will help you find the right level.

What Treatment Looks Like

OP at Fortify Wellness runs 1 to 2 sessions a week, built around continued individual therapy and targeted group sessions. Your schedule is set with your clinical team and scales down as your stability grows.

Individual therapy gives you private time to keep working through what is specific to your recovery. Targeted group sessions focus on the skills that keep people well after intensive treatment: recognizing triggers, preventing relapse, and staying connected to a sober community. Family therapy is available when you want the people closest to you involved, and case managers check in with you on a regular basis to keep practical needs from derailing progress. Wellness offerings such as yoga, meditation, and creative therapies are available as part of the program.

Continuing Care And Staying Well

OP is where recovery becomes part of ordinary life. The focus moves from intensive treatment to maintenance: keeping the coping skills sharp, catching warning signs early, and building a routine that holds up under work, family, and daily stress. Regular case-manager check-ins help you stay accountable, and you can step back up to a higher level of care if your needs change. This is the stage where the structure built in IOP or PHP gets tested in the real world, with support still in reach.

Therapies And Modalities

Our OP combines evidence-based talk therapy with practical, whole-person support. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is central, helping you keep identifying the thoughts and triggers behind substance use and respond to them differently as life gets busier. You can read more about how we use cognitive behavioral therapy across our programs.

Individual therapy anchors your care, targeted group sessions reinforce relapse-prevention skills, and family sessions support the people around you. Case management connects you to practical resources, from employment support to community services, so recovery has a stable base.

IOP vs OP: Which Level Is Right?

IOP and OP differ in how much structure you need each week. IOP provides several hours of programming multiple days a week; OP is the lighter step that keeps you connected to care while most of your time goes back to work, school, and family.
