Addiction treatment is not one thing. It is a set of levels, from several hours of structured care a day down to a weekly check-in, and the right starting point depends on how much support a person needs right now. Fortify Wellness provides three outpatient levels, plus detox support and therapy, so people can enter at the level that fits and step down as they stabilize rather than starting over somewhere new. This page explains each level and who it suits, so the first decision is an informed one.
Every level at Fortify Wellness is outpatient, which means a person lives at home and keeps their life going while they are in treatment. What changes between levels is intensity.
PHP is the most structured outpatient level, running Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm with clinical therapy and holistic sessions. It fits people stepping down from inpatient care or those who need close support to stay stable early on.
IOP runs several sessions a week and suits people who need real structure while keeping up with work, school, or family.
OP is the lightest level, a weekly rhythm of therapy that holds recovery steady once the harder early weeks are behind.
A person rarely stays at one level the whole way. The usual path is to start where the need is greatest and move down as things stabilize, with the plan adjusting as recovery progresses.
Choosing a level is a clinical decision, not a guess. We use the ASAM Criteria to make that call. It is the placement standard across addiction medicine, and it weighs the substance involved, physical health, home stability, and any co-occurring mental health condition to land on the right intensity. An assessment at the start sets the right starting level, and the same criteria guide each move to a lighter level after that.
Some people need to clear a substance from their body safely before outpatient treatment begins. Fortify Wellness does not run detox on-site, but we coordinate medically supervised detox with a trusted provider and then bring the person into the program once they are stable. We provide this support for alcohol, benzodiazepines, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, and meth, each of which withdraws differently and needs its own plan.
Across every level, treatment combines evidence-based clinical therapy with holistic practices that rebuild daily life. The clinical side includes cognitive behavioral therapy, group and family therapy, trauma therapy, and psychiatric care for co-occurring conditions. Our dual diagnosis treatment handles mental health and substance use together rather than as separate problems, and specialized tracks address substances such as kratom that do not behave like a typical opioid. Alongside the clinical work, holistic practice builds the routines, stress tools, and physical health that make recovery last.
Recovery does not end at the therapy room. Fortify Wellness adds case management to coordinate care and handle practical obstacles, employment support to help people rebuild work and stability, and connections to trusted sober living for those who need a supportive place to stay. These are the pieces that keep a person steady after the structured phase ends.
Treatment is often more affordable than people expect, because most major insurance plans cover outpatient care. We run your benefits and lay out your coverage up front, with no cost to check and an answer usually back within a day. The admissions team can also tell you which level of care is the likely fit based on a short conversation.
